Wine Country Casual is the appropriate attire for a Napa visit. It is one of our stops on our annual summer vacation to California. We are lucky to have some wonderful friends who put us up every year for a few days, so we can visit with them and enjoy Wine Country. Very serious Foodies & Wine connoisseurs are amongst those who live and visit beautiful Napa. But, I take my vintage opportunities serious and so I squeezed in one gem of an antique store during our downtown Napa stroll so that I could practice Thrifting Like a Boss Even When You Travel. I picked up the lovely vintage white hat in the third picture, some beautiful vintage jewelry and a european wood dough bowl that I will use to hold some of my plants. My husband is a wonderful supporter of my vintage excursions and below he is pictured carrying my purchase to the car.

Yes, I am serious! Thrifting Like A Boss - Even when you travel!  As a person who celebrates sustainable green choices I couldn't be in a better place then San Francisco to Thrift Like A Boss! If you missed Mamacita Liza's rules for Thrifting Like A Boss 

In the planning stages of any trip I always do a Yelp search for the key words "thrift stores, consignment clothing boutiques and Goodwill". Then I review write ups by Yelpers to help me focus on which store i will patronize. All stores have a focus, some have clothing, others have furniture, some have household kitchen items and some stores have it all. Thrifting Like A Boss - Even When I Travel!

We arrived to San Francisco for our current visit on June 1st and on June 2nd my husband was kind enough to accompany me to the the monthly Alameda Point Antiques Fair which is a local quality flea. It was fabulous with hundreds of vendors, great vintage items, jewelry, clothing and furniture. I purchased two purses, one bracelet and the tastiest hot dog i have ever had. 

With two large bags of purged items from my husbands and sister-in-laws closet my youngest offspring and I headed to donate and patronize our local Goodwill, in search of some household items we needed for our 2 month stay; hangers, a lamp, table & couch.  We did fairly well purchasing over 30 hangers for $5 and a vintage gorgeous little lamp for a whopping $4.99.

The local Goodwill & clothing consignment boutiques are stocked with all my preferred Haute Couture Fashion designers (Banana Republic, JCrew, Alfani, Ann Taylor, BCBG, United Colors Benetton) but with a more eclectic color pallet, and I LOVE color.  The merchandise is a true reflection of the diverse community and population in the San Francisco Bay area and i really embrace the playful color designer choices of our diverse community.
