THRIFTING LIKE A BOSS!!!

I am celebrating sustainable green choices by way of practicing a thrifty lifestyle. One way that I do this is by restrained and disciplined spending habits and by purchasing goods formely owned and gently used.

Mamacita Liza's Rules for Thrifting Like A Boss

1. Must be a quality item of clothing. A garment designed to endure years of wear, avoid fads, while capturing the feminine, classic and classy haute couture fashions, because it is a sound fashion and financial investment.  True Haute Couture Fashions are sewn with quality dress making skills resulting in high elegance.  There are many Haute Couture Fashion pieces to be had at the Goodwill or consignment boutiques.  I have a handful of favorite designers that styles and cuts compliment my body type and my personal taste. Find yours.  It is one more thrifting technique that enables me to shop efficiently. Here are a few of my favorites; Banana Republic, JCrew, Ann Taylor, Alfani, BCBG and United Colors Benetton.

2.  The item must be on sale or discount or it's not for Mamacita Liza! That's Thrifting Like A Boss

3.  I must need it verses want it. I refuse to have a closet full of multiples or piles.  What is the sense in Thrifting Like A Boss if you are wasteful with money.

4.  For every clothing item purchased i purge one item, so the ratio is 1:1. Purging has two important benefits. I practice a strict adherence to this rule or else run the risk of falling into camp hoarding verses Thrifting Like a Boss. Purging combined with donating has the benefit of living a sustainable green life.  Donating gently used clothing and household items to charitable organizations like Goodwill contributes to the many who are directly employed by Goodwill stores all over the country and in our communities. These employees go to work, sort goods, tag items, stock racks, work the cash register and manage Goodwill store operations. I proudly support Goodwill by donating and shopping.
